What’s your theme?

What’s your theme? Posted on November 24, 200812 Comments

Holy moly, I’m exhausted. I wanted to tell you a little bit about my trip back to Nashville this weekend, but I’m way too tired to even think about it.

So instead, I’m playing with Gmail themes. I’ve had my theme set* on Mountains ever since themes were activated a couple of days ago, but I haven’t been sold on it. I like how the scene changes each day, but I don’t know, it’s still kind of meh. I like the Cherry Blossoms background, but hate the pink trim around the boxes. It makes them hard to look at. Now I’m testing out Bus Stop to see how that goes. I wish it would change the sky to reflect the time of day like iGoogle does.

I’m curious though, I’ve noticed other people chattering about Gmail themes, and it seems like they’ve got access to themes that I don’t. The Modern Beau said he’s got his set to a Spaceship theme, and I don’t know what he’s talking about.

For those of you who use Gmail, what is your favorite theme? Have you heard of all the ones I just mentioned?

*To get a Gmail theme, go to the Settings option in your Inbox and click Themes.

  1. I had mine set to Oscar de la Renta for a while. I haven’t checked out the new themes yet. I’ll probably put up something Christmas-themed for the next month or so. I like ones that change from time to time. The tea house is always cute.

  2. At work I use Terminal, quite frankly because it looks very much like the system we use here. That way, people walking by will be easily fooled into thinking I’m actually working. Damn genius.

  3. I have the Asian one with the little fox on it, but I’m not sure yet if I like it. It’s a little distracting. We’ll see!

  4. IDK why, but I really like my standard sites, like google reader, yahoo mail, gmail, that kind of stuff to look standard and boring. I just go in, get the info and get out. I want it to be like the post office, boring and standard.

  5. I have Candy. And no sign of a Spaceship one in my options. I do see Bus Stop, Ninja and Tea House.

  6. I put mine on “tree theme” but it doesn’t look right on the Mac, so I need to remember to change that back to normal boring theme.

  7. I have mine on tree theme. I had to put in my zip code and it appears to be reflecting the current weather.
