It’s Leap Day, as Google so clearly reminded the Modern Gal this morning.
I want to do something completely awesome to celebrate, but I’m at a loss for what would qualify as awesome enough for Leap Day.
I mean as awesome as my plans for the day are (watch five episodes of How I Met Your Mother, laundry, workout, a little bit of work) I just don’t think they live up to Leap Day standards.
I’ve been engaging in research. I’ve found a complete breakdown of what Leap Day/Year is. I’ve found a society for Leap Year babies. I’ve found encouragement to use Leap Day to change some old habits.
But what caught my eye is this: 29 things to do on Feb. 29. That’s it. I’m going to do 29 new things on the 29th. I will spend the whole day doing my 29 new things and then report back here tonight.
In the meantime, tell me how you’re celebrating Leap Day!
Oh dear, there’s only an hour and a half left until March, and I didn’t do any of those things. Of course, the below freezing weather made the water balloon and bicycling stuff out.
I did go see Academy Award Winning No Country For Old Men to celebrate this day. I also made vegan cookies. And now we’re getting lots of snow.
Yeah, I thought that list was a bit ambitious and opted to make my own. But the water balloons did sound like a lot of fun.
And I think a Coen brothers film, cookies and snow is a lovely way to celebrate a Leap Day.
