As you may have read below, I indeed passed on Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s. Fortunately, modern gal Angie’s got my back, pointing out that it’s 31-cent Cone Day at Baskin Robbins. And that’s really a bigger deal to me because it takes me back to my childhood. My parents, dog and I used to walk from our house to BR on summer nights for ice cream. My addiction began at a young age and has steadily grown.
Oh, and I won’t be walking to BR tonight. Totally driving. Take that, workout guilt!
My first boyfriend’s parents owned a Baskin’s. Sometimes I miss him.
I can totally swing 31 cents for some ice cream. ICE CREAM!!
Sarah: That’s funny, my first boyfriend worked at a Baskin Robbins. I definitely had an awkward visit there when we first started dating and I spilled my milkshake everywhere.
Mickey: And it’s for a good cause.
Oh! I love BR. They’re aren’t any here.
Were you in their birthday club as a kid?
I miss their pumpkin ice cream.
What! I don’t think I even know where there is a BR here. So sad. I did get my free Starbucks today, though. And if I wanted, Dunkin Donuts is giving away free ice coffees to anyone who buys food… of course, then I’d have to buy completely unnecessary food.
Allie: I was not in the birthday club, but most of my childhood birthday cakes did come from BR.
NPW: There’s nothing unnecessary about Dunkin’ Donuts food. This being said from someone who’s been denied the DD until they recently started expanding down here yonder.
ARGH! I missed again! I’m going to buy my own da*n ice cream and eat it tonight. at home. on my couch. watching tv.
And I’m not sharing!
