I’m a complete dork and so are all my friends, which means I find CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” to be most hilarious. The characters are all top notch, but Sheldon makes me guffaw more times than not. He’s played by Jim Parsons (the knight from “Garden State”), who is by far the most convincing TV nerd I’ve ever seen. In fact, most of these guys are completely believable in their nerdiness. I grew up thinking Urkel and Screech were what nerds were supposed to be, but BBT does a great job of making these dorks adorable and rather charming in their smarty pants ways. That’s much closer to the nerds I know in real life.
