As it turns out, things have slowed down a bit and I have time to blog today after all.

I found this article from Reader’s Digest today on 31 simple things you can do to reduce your risk for cancer. Now, I’m a firm believer that you can’t spend your whole life or all your efforts worrying about developing cancer and what you can do to prevent it. Some forms of cancer are preventable but others might develop whether you’re doing everything right or not.

But, the thing I like about this article is that many of the tips go hand-in-hand with eating healthy or being green. Other tips are stuff you already know, like wear sunscreen … a lot of it. The thing I don’t like is that it seems a bit oversimplistic.

Speaking of not worrying, the NY Times has a list of 10 things to stop worrying about. I know a few of you are probably going to take issue with some of the things on the list. I get what No. 6 is saying, but I’m still sticking with my Sigg waterbottle. I definitely have never worried about Nos. 1, 4, 7, 9 and 10.

  1. I saw that NY times article today on my igoogle page. Just below that was a link to an article about whether eating charred meat will cause cancer. It got an ironic laugh from me!

  2. I think that article just gave me a whole new list of things to worry about.

  3. That list is great…I no longer feel guilty for using plastic bags!! Of course technically I suppose I should be using the reusable bags but details, details.
