Holy giveaways, Batman! I’ve been so busy for the past few days I nearly forgot the Lisha Lynn gift certificate giveaway. I’m going to give it one more day before I close entries since I forgot to remind everyone to enter … soooo don’t forget to enter before midnight Wednesday! To enter, go to the original post and tell me a story about your relationship with makeup.
It’s been a little crazy lately. I’d ask who schedules a business meeting for the week before Christmas, but apparently the answer goes beyond just my own bosses. Several of my gal pals are also traveling this week for business meetings.
My meeting was about as unfun as I’d expected with my evil boss (the one that delivered me that ass-chewing a few months ago) berating me more than once in front of the entire office staff. She’s a lovely woman, that boss lady. My treat for putting up with it was a bit of retail therapy.
(Speaking of giveaways, we had our annual Secret Santa exchange after the office meeting. I’m going to be regifting what I received to you soon. Stay tuned.)
What else have I been up to? I finally got around to running my second 5K, the Jingle Bell Run. The thing about this run is that I really haven’t been running AT ALL lately, so it was a completely cold effort on my part. The good news is I finished in 35:53, which isn’t so bad when you haven’t taken a step in your running shoes for more than a month. The bad news is my body considered the effort to be an overexertion on my behalf, and I ended up with a migraine much later. Guess it’s time to get back to jogging on a regular basis. You know what’s crazier? The Modern Beau ran it a week after his marathon and finished in 25:45. Punk.
The other thing I did this weekend was take in a performance of Movin’ Out, the rock ballet set to the music of Billy Joel. I bought tickets on a whim just hours before the show only knowing two things: Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp. I certainly was surprised to discover there’s no dialogue in the show, it’s just Billy Joel songs and Twyla Tharp-choreographed dancing, but it was still good. I recommend it to anyone who likes Billy Joel or really good dancing.
What have y’all been up to lately?
Good job on the 5K. Now get back to running!
If it’ll stop raining for five minutes I’d like to get out there myself.
I wanted to see Movin’ Out! I love both Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp, so I’m sad I missed it.
Sorry about your boss. Why don’t people get the “criticize in private, praise in public” thing?
Good for you on running a 5K! That’s awesome.
I totally agree with Courtney. Nothing good comes from making someone feel like crap in front of everyone.
Excellent work on the 5K! Speaking of work, why is it that the week before Christmas seems to be the craziest week on all levels?
the only person I love possible a smidge more than Brad Paisley is Billy Joel. I wonder if this is coming to TPAC?
I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off both at work and after…getting everything in line for Christmas in Hawaii!!! Love you friend, Merry merry Christmas!
