Celebrate National Delurking Week

Celebrate National Delurking Week Posted on January 12, 200912 Comments

I definitely have felt the love of all my Modern Friends in the past week with your comments and e-mails. Once again, thank you for all of your support. I really, really cannot even begin to tell you how much it’s meant to me.

That said, Miss Heidi reminded me this morning that it’s National Delurking Week. What’s a delurking, you say? It’s that special time of the year when people who have been reading blogs WITHOUT leaving comments (aka lurking) are expected to start commenting (aka DE-lurking).

I’m certainly not accusing anyone of doing that around The Modern Gal. Instead, I’m going to encourage you to take a look at my blogroll and say hi to any of my lovely friends on their blogs.

But, if by chance you have been guilty of lurking around the MG, I’d love to hear from you. Say hi … let me know if there’s something you’d like for me to write about … complain … whatever. Without readers and comments we’re not bloggers, we’re just writers.

  1. Hey, I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of months, found you via the sunsphere blog. I’m a mid to late-twentysomething that just moved to Knoxville in the fall of 2008 to attend UT.
    I love your blog!

  2. I’m kind of a lurker. But I’m also not very opinionated which is why I don’t comment very much. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight 🙂

  3. Ok, I’ll bite! I’ve been lurking. I totally can relate to what you’ve been going through and I’m cheering you on! And since I’m in confession mode, I’m also lurking on twitter!

  4. I lurk as well, perhaps its all part of the human condition. I shall try to be better about commenting…we all need our comments.

  5. I cannot lie – I’ve been lurking as well.
(As to your breakup CD, when I had a somewhat similar (and unfortunate) occurrence in my life, I bought the Grateful Dead’s American Beauty album…never had been much of a Deadhead before, but I loved that CD, and kept it on repeat on my car for a long, long time. All the best in this tough situation.)

  6. Ok, ok. I admit it, been reading the Modern Gal for a few days and throughly enjoying it. Keep up the fine work and I’ll try to be regular with snarky comments. GG

  7. … “thoroughly,” that is … this is why I lurk: Typos in blog comments burn my retinas. GG
