Cookie Monster and the origin of ‘Om nom nom’

Cookie Monster and the origin of ‘Om nom nom’ Posted on November 10, 20095 Comments

My main man on Sesame Street may have indeed been the originator of the oft-used ‘om nom nom’ phrase. Come to think of it, he may have had a role in the origins of LOL speak too. Me can has cookie?

I posted on this a long time ago, but as a refresher: the always entertaining Om nom nom nom blog.

P.S. Happy birthday, Sesame Street!

  1. Ha — I blogged about Sesame Street's 40th birthday today. Great day for talking Muppets. 🙂

  2. Saw something on the Today Show about this- who the hell was the fairy? that wasn't there when I was growing up.

  3. Sometimes i just like to really sing, quite loudly, "C is for Cookie! It's good enough for me!" when I really want a cookie. Then after I eat it I sing "Cookie cookie cookie, cookie starts with C!". Yes, I am a dork. I love Cookie Monster. Now that I have a munchkin I am enjoying Sesame Street all over again.
