From the impossibly thick women’s fashion magazine comes an especially useful tool.

InStyle mag has a new shopping feature on its website that allows you to search by item of clothing or type of accessory, brand, store, price, size and any combination of the five.

Say the Modern Gal wants to find a new sweater to wear to Thanksgiving dinner. She can select “sweater” and then “cardigan,” because she’s already got too many crewneck sweaters. The 24 pages of results may be a little intimidating, so she can narrow the results down to Gap, Anthropologie and J.Crew because they’re nearby and her favorite stores.

The result? A super-cute sweater. Now if I can only figure out where to find the money to pay for it.
