And finally … drumroll please

And finally … drumroll please Posted on May 7, 200810 Comments

The first thing I did after I got home this evening from all my crazy Mother’s Day/graduation shopping was indeed the Pay it Forward drawing.

The Modern Beau was at the library studying for his final exam ever, so Lucydog agreed to supervise. I used my favorite St. Louis Cardinals hat in honor of all my Chicagoan friends. (Love you guys!)

The Modern Dog, thrilled as always to participate.

Evidence of the entries into the drawing:

Apologies for lame cell phone quality photos. I’m going to be buying myself a new user-friendly digital camera one of these days. Or, consider it an opportune gift for my birthday … in July.

And the winnahs are (Lucydog and Price Waterhouse Cooper have verified the drawing):

That would be Jay, Vanessakins and Sarah. Congratulations! E-mail me your addresses, and I promise I’ll try to get y’alls’ prizes to you asap, but you’ve already experienced how slowly I work. Now you know the drill: you get to host your own Pay it Forward drawing. Jay, I know you’re not much blogging these days, so I just ask that you pick three people and do something nice for them/send them something fun.

While I’m at it, I wanted to hand out the “You Make My Day” tag Vanessa gave me to someone who has never once failed to make my day. She doesn’t have a blog, but everyone say hi to Ang. E., one of my most faithful readers and one of the kindest and most fashionable people I know. Truly a modern gal.

  1. YAY! Thanks so much, I’ll get you my address. And I already know what I’m giving as a prize for my pay it forward, I have an extra copy of Jen Lancaster’s new book to give away!

    PS: Lucydog is adorable!

  2. awww BETH you are the best! If I had a blog I would give you a “you are a bad ass” sticker — bc you are! xoxoxo!

  3. Vanessa: Yay! That’s a great gift. I can’t wait to read it myself.

Angie: You’re a badass, my friend.

Kristen: Yup. I like to play the role of antagonist.

Noelle: Next time, friend. Next time.

  4. Woo! The best part: I already know one of the ways I’m going to pay the favor forward!
