The great bouquet mystery

The great bouquet mystery Posted on July 11, 20086 Comments

I decided to use the restroom before I left work today (I know, great start to a story, right?) When I came back to the office to grab my purse and computer this was sitting on the counter:

What wasn’t included in the bouquet was a card or note indicating where they came from, who they’re for and who’s responsible.

I’d like to assume they’re for me, considering it’s my birthday on Monday and all and were I to pick a bouquet of flowers this is the exact bouquet I would pick out for myself. However my officemate took the day off from work because he was likely going to have to put his poor sick doggie to sleep. His wife works in the same building, and I have a hunch she might be responsible.

Not to mention I called the party most likely to send flowers to my office: my mother, who once sent a three-foot tall plant to work just so people would ask enough questions to discover it was my birthday. She denied any involvement. The Modern Beau is out too; he’s not one to have flowers sent when he can pick them up himself at Kroger.

I think I’m going to just pretend I have a secret admirer.

  1. Did you keep them? If they were intended for someone else, that could cause quite some drama in the office. And if it does, please keep us updated.

And if I knew your name or your address or your birthday, I would totally send you flowers for your birthday.

  2. Oooohhh! I love a great mystery… can’t wait to see how this one ends!

  3. Secret admirers are always fun! If not,it’s fun to treat yourself with fresh flowers every once in a while too.
