I’ve been holding back everything I’ve wanted to say about the Cubs’ playoffs performance for fear of jinxing their jinx. Apparently biting my tongue paid off in dividends. The curses of the goat and the scapegoat is alive and well.

Don’t you know these Cubs are cursed? Wait ’til next year never ends …

Really, it’s just for the best that the Cubs do lose. What would they be if they weren’t the loveable losers?

  1. ITA with you. I was out last night and people were going crazy at the bar, and then they were sad. The Cubs are losers, and there is nothing wrong with that. They’re more loved as a loser than as a winner. Wink, wink, there’s always next year.

  2. I agree. When the Red Sox won (and their White couterparts, for that matter), they completely lost the only thing attractive about them. Not everyone can win, and we need somebody to remind us of that from time to time. That is the Cubs cosmic destiny.
