Merry Christmas from The Modern Gal

Merry Christmas from The Modern Gal Posted on December 25, 20083 Comments

Merry Christmas or happy whatever holiday you choose to observe, Modern Friends. I hope it’s colorful and bright!

I’m writing this post in the wee hours of Christmas morning after a beautiful Midnight Mass with the Modern Mom, the Modern Beau, the Modern Beau and the Modern Mom in Law. After a long winter’s nap with the Modern Dog, the Modern Parents and I will get up to have an indulgent breakfast, open gifts, perhaps take another long winter’s nap and have the extended family over for dinner, which will apparently NOT consist of Honeybaked Ham, at my father’s request (so much for tradition), but instead a smoked pig shoulder (still delish). Mi tia Latina will be bringing her traditional Christmas tamales as well, ole!

I hope wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, this post finds you as happy and content as I am at this moment. Love to you all.

  1. The Christmas tamales sound wonderful! I love to make them, but it is more work than one woman can handle. My husband isn’t much of a tamale helper, so we settled for lamb. Feliz Navidad
