Life as an outlier

Life as an outlier Posted on October 26, 20105 Comments

There are some days — many days — when I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs, ‘I JUST WANT A NORMAL LIFE!’*** I want to do normal work during normal hours for normal people and have a normal social and personal life. Or just any social and personal life.

I have to remind myself over and over and over again that there is no such thing as a normal life — not that it makes me feel any better.

Next time you’re in Nashville, I’m buying you a drink the size of your head.

  2. Ha! You must know I have to laugh at a post that includes the word “normal” six times. 🙂 Of course, I tend to think life is much more rewarding and real when you steer clear of so-called normal, but there is a happy medium to be found, for sure. Maybe toss out the idea of normal all together, then list out your personal/life priorities and make sure you have time for them. To advocate for yourself you have to know what you really want/need.

  3. Yeah, that’s true — no such thing as normal. When your busy work season ends, you should throw a massive party. I’ll even drive up for it. 🙂
