Laser beam guitars and confetti

Laser beam guitars and confetti Posted on November 8, 20104 Comments

Boy, I was really moody on that last post, wasn’t I? I am sort of all over the board when it comes to work, but I’ma gonna blame that last post on a combination of work, lack of sleep and that time of the month.

This week was still heavy on work, but the weekend has rocked. Literally, it has rocked as the Modern Love Machine and I got to catch one of the bands we mutually love in action, that being OkGo.

You know OkGo, of the treadmill, Rube Goldberg and now puppydog/IKEA furniture music video fame?**

Well, OkGo’s music rocks across the board, and they’re just as hilarious in person as they are in their music videos. Observe the confetti that they shot from the stage during nearly every song.

And then the encore, which featured suits w/ LED lighting that made designs and guitars with laser beams. Let me repeat: guitars with laser beams.

Part of the show’s awesomeness was the fact that they showed us the White Knuckles (dog/IKEA furniture) video in 3D, sold a USB jump drive with a recording of the entire thing afterward and e-mailed those of us that texted them our e-mail addresses a free song download. Talk about suave marketing in the age of the internets. I love you, OkGo.

**Seriously, if you ever find yourself bored, just go spend some time at OkGo’s YouTube channel.

  1. Well, crap. I had a ticket to that show and ended up not going because none of my friends could score tickets…

Glad you had some good time off!
