It certainly changes the song for me. I mean, “Touching me, touching you.” As much as I love Neil Diamond, I’m not sure I’d want him saying that about me, especially if I were Caroline Kennedy.

The good news that I found out in this revelation though is that the song was written in a seedy Memphis motel room, which of course is pleasing to the Modern Gal, who grew up in Memphis and loves all things Memphis.
