Who doesn’t like an HBO hurtling through space?

Who doesn’t like an HBO hurtling through space? Posted on November 20, 20075 Comments

Today was the Modern Gal’s day off work, and she’s been taking full advantage of HBO On Demand, watching Sex in the City reruns for the zillionth time and becoming a newly pledged addict of Entourage. Hi, I’m the Modern Gal, and I’m addicted to Entourage.

I’m so excited about all the wonderful programming HBO brings to the world, that I want to share you the following memory from my childhood. My mother would occasionally plop me down in front of the TV to watch a Muppets movie so that she could get some chores done, but for some reason, the introductory graphic is what I remember more than the movies themselves.

Was anyone else obsessed with this, or am I just crazy to think they don’t make the HBO graphics like they used to?

P.S. When, oh when, will Flight of the Conchords return to On Demand?

  1. OMG. Watching that, all kinds of memories came flooding back from my childhood. I was obsessed with that intro! I would dance to it, and my favorite part was when all of the colors started shooting through the O. Man, that was awesome.

  2. FYI: at screen on the green in DC, they always play the HBO intro with the intense music from our youth, and people get up and do this crazy spastic dance every time. you would love it.

  3. I’m so glad I’m not the only one obsessed. I too love the ending inside the O.

And I’m always a fan of spastic dancing, as that’s probably how my own dancing style could be described.

  4. My God… I always thought I was the only one who still remembered that! We didn’t have HBO growing up, but I remember going to watch movies at Lee Houck’s house, and it would come on.
