I’ve had several new bloggers ask me how one spreads the word about their blog and entices readers to comment. You know you’ve got a great site, you just don’t know how to get the word out about it. It certainly isn’t as easy as it should be.

I think many of you have figured out two of the best tricks — being a good commentor on the blogs of others who you like or think would like reading yours and spreading the word through as many blog listing services as possible.

Chuck Westbrook is trying a little experiment in trying to drive readers to underappreciated blogs. I think it’s an interesting concept, and it’s worth checking out. If you want to participate, you need to act fast. I believe the deadline is today. Even if you’re not actively participating, you might find some new blogs to read by checking in from time to time.

  1. This is a good idea, but how long would I have to wait to be the chosen one? Because it’s all about me.

  2. I think I’m cool with letting my blog fester for a while. I’m afraid that I’d get all kinds of attention during a week like this where I’ve just been feeling bored and uninspired.

  3. I think it’s an interesting idea, although if you are no longer the focus after two weeks would they still read you? Hmmm…
